$12 all-you-can-eat text plans

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Telecom has announced a new text pricing plan for Christmas tailor-made for heavy SMS users.

The new pricing plan has introduced ‘Non Stop Text’, an offer that gives customers all the texts they need to any network for $12 per month.

Vodafone currently offers text bundles of 2000 texts at $10 per month. However, these text messages are to mobiles on Vodafone’s network only.

2Degrees offers text messaging at 9c per message.

The new pricing plans are the result of customer feedback, says Telecom director of mobile Paul Hamburger.

“We’re not taking our foot off the pedal – and these offers show kiwi customers that we mean business,” he says.

The offers released today show Telecom’s “desire to lead the mobile market into a new era”.

“These are market changing offers,” he says.

The mobile broadband plan offered costs just $99. Prepaid Mobile Broadband customers receive a T-Stick (MF626), a free XT SIM card and 500 megabytes (MB) of data free for use within the calendar month. The T-stick can then be “topped up” like a prepaid mobile phone.

The new plans are only available to XT mobile network customers only. The promotion runs until January 31, 2010. Plans expire in January 2011.
