UKG, one of the world's top providers of HR, payroll, and workforce management solutions, has announced the appointment of Aaron Thorne as Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. Mr Thorne, previously Vice President of Sales APAC, is set to bring his vast experience in the software sector and a clear vision for the company’s future in the region to this vital role.

Having served as Vice President of Sales for UKG since 2021, Mr Thorne led the Australia and New Zealand Enterprise Sales Team to double the region’s revenue over two years. His career at UKG commenced in 2019, with him working as an Enterprise Account Director, overseeing some of UKG’s largest local customers. Before joining UKG, he held a prestigious position as an Enterprise Account Director at Board International, a renowned global business intelligence and planning SaaS vendor.

Mr Thorne's professional journey has cut across numerous industries. Early in his career, he carved a niche for himself in the finance and healthcare sectors, where he held senior enterprise sales roles. Additionally, he enjoyed a successful stint as a professional baseball player with the Seattle Mariners in the United States.

The newly appointed Managing Director is poised to continue solidifying UKG's position as the top workforce management platform in Australia and New Zealand. Mr Thorne is also set to increase UKG's presence while providing valuable support to more public sector organisations and players in the mining industry.

Speaking on his new role, Mr Thorne says, “It’s a great honour to be appointed as UKG’s next Managing Director. I am thrilled to work closely with current and future customers and lead the company’s amazing group of talented individuals passionate about helping organisations thrive.”

An integral part of his mission, according to Mr Thorne, is to ensure that UKG maintains its commitment to fostering and promoting outstanding work environments whilst upholding its people-centric culture. He also aims to expand the company's footprint and increase its workforce in Southeast Asia, a market that has been witnessing rapid growth, within the coming year.

Expressing optimism about the prospects of UKG across these regions, Mr Thorne adds, “The potential and growth opportunities for UKG across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia are enormous. Our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that empower businesses and improve workplace culture and management positions us for a bright future. We are excited to seize these opportunities and continue to lead the market.”

With this new appointment, UKG continues to demonstrate its commitment to leading in its field while helping over 75,000 organisations across the globe to meet their employees' needs beyond work, strengthening its partnerships and championing great workplaces.
