Acer unveils AI-powered TravelMate P6 14 with security features

Acer has introduced its latest addition to the TravelMate series, the TravelMate P6 14 AI. This new model is notable for its advanced AI capabilities, powered by Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2).

"With the newest Intel Core Ultra processors at the helm, the TravelMate P6 14 AI provides workers with remarkable power."

The TravelMate P6 14 AI features a 14-inch WQXGA+ (2880x1800) display with IPS technology or an alternative WUXGA (1920x1200) panel. Both display options offer 400 nit brightness and a 100% sRGB colour gamut, providing high picture quality. The screen also boasts a high 82% screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, the laptop features Intel Core Ultra processors, supporting up to 48 TOPS NPU of AI performance and up to 32 GB LPDDR5X memory. Storage options include high-speed PCIe Gen4 SSDs. The model also includes Intel Arc graphics, advancing AI capabilities for creative workloads. Powering the device is a 65 Wh battery.

"The silent keyboard with a 1.55 mm travel distance supports quiet and comfortable typing and comes with a convenient microphone mute key," Acer stated.

The laptop introduces several AI-driven features through the Acer Experience Zone within the TravelMate Sense app. Features such as Acer Assist, an AI virtual assistant, provide on-device support for resolving technical queries and summarising documents without data leaving the laptop. Acer LiveArt 2.0, another notable feature, enables easy removal of photo backgrounds and the generation of depth maps on 2D images. GIMP and Intel's Stable Diffusion plugin allow users to create illustrations and photos seamlessly.

Video conferencing is also enhanced by Acer's AI-powered PurifiedView 2.0, which takes advantage of the NPU to improve video call quality while conserving power. Portrait Refinement, Gentle Lighting, and Super Sharp features adjust lighting, colour contrast, and resolution to create natural-looking video calls. The triple microphone array, combined with PurifiedVoice 2.0 and AI Noise Reduction, ensures audio clarity by reducing background noise.

Security and durability are key features of the TravelMate P6 14 AI. It incorporates a QHD IR camera for secure logins, a privacy shutter, and Acer User Sensing Technology, which locks the screen when the user steps away and quickly wakes it up upon their return. Acer ProShield Plus offers a range of security and management features. The laptop is MIL-STD 810H compliant for durability and features Acer Dust Defender to reduce dust build-up.

The device also supports the latest in connectivity, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The addition of USB 4 Type-C, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports offer compatibility with a variety of peripherals. Acer included recycled materials in the design, and the model is EPEAT-registered and TCO 10 certified, highlighting its sustainability credentials.

Acer has not disclosed the exact pricing and availability for the TravelMate P6 14 AI, stating that these details will vary by region.
