FYI, this story is more than a year old

If you thought Hugh Hefner’s engagement to 24 year old playmate Crystal Harris was creepy, check this out: 51 year old ‘Lost’ actor Doug Hutchison (you may also remember him as Percy Wetmore in ‘The Green Mile’) has successfully married his 16 year old girlfriend. That’s right, 16. If you’re wondering how this is even legal, it’s not. She had to get special permission from her parents to make this happen. Courtney Stodden is an aspiring teen pop star and actress and in a recent interview, the couple tried to convince the public that they are truly in love and that we should all just get over their 35 year age difference and the fact that she is a teenager. Unfortunately for them, this interview managed to have the reverse effect and the newlyweds were bombarded with angry messages from shocked and appalled viewers. If the inappropriate age difference is not enough to make you think something is very wrong about this situation, the interview will definitely do the trick. We’ll agree with Hutchison on one point –Stodden certainly does not look 16. Despite claims that she has not had any plastic surgery and that she "came out of the womb looking this way” (that’s a scary thought), Stodden looks to us like a 45 year old who has undergone extensive plastic surgery and Botox procedures in an attempt to look 30 again. On top of this, her behaviour in the interview is pretty disturbing. She spends the entire video posing and pouting awkwardly for the camera, swaying about in her seat and stringing together barely coherent sentences that do nothing to dispel rumours that she is using Hutchison for his money and to boost her dismal career. It’s rather painful to watch. "We’re aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial,” the couple said. "But we’re very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless.”You might think that such a move would be a career killer for Hutchison, who was once revered for his role in ‘The Green Mile’, but he insists that the opposite is true. "I believe there’s one rule in Hollywood, and that’s that there are no rules.” He says (how original). "I have had more opportunities now in my career [than ever before] and I’ve been courted by producers, directors, agents...so no, I don’t think love is a career killer.” Hutchison goes on to add that Courtney is more important than his career and that he has had to cut himself off from people who can’t accept that. You can check out a clip from the interview here: tinyurl.com/4xa3djkAnd watch one of Courtney’s "music videos” here:  tinyurl.com/6bh7khj
