The Asia New Zealand Foundation is offering young entrepreneurs a taste of Vietnam, a burgeoning tech sector that's host to 90 million people.

The government's ASEAN strategy has facilitated the opportunity through the ASEAN Young Business Leaders Initiative (YBLI), which was designed to improve relationships between entrepreneurs and business leaders across Southeast Asia and New Zealand.

The initiative has already helped bring 62 business leaders from every ASEAN member country to New Zealand, and now the project has been giving entrepreneurs the chance to visit Southeast Asia.

Previous YBLIs have visited the Philippines and Thailand. This year's fully-funded trip to Vietnam will allow entrepreneurs to understand the Vietnamese business environment, meet tech sector entrepreneurs in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, meet government officials and explore methods of collaboration. Participants also have the option of travelling to Singapore's FinTech Festival at their own expense.

Interested applicants must be under 40 years of age, be an entrepreneur or CEO at senior management level of a NZ tech business. The Foundation will also consider those who are outstanding startup entrepreneurs or emerging entrepreneurs.

The Vietnamese programme is being delivered by the Asia New Zealand Foundation, the New Zealand Embassy and the New Zealand Trade Commission in Vietnam, while the application panel will consist of Foundation staff, external expert and the New Zealand Embassy in Vietnam.
