Game publishers Bethesda have set a launch date for Dishonored, the steampunk-inspired title described as a ‘supernatural assassin game', announcing it will go on sale here on October 11 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Games for Windows.

The company has also offered some more detail on what's in store in the game, explaining that the player will control Corvo, ‘the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress who has been murdered'.

"Framed for the crime, you become an infamous assassin, known by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card,” the blurb reads.

Bethesda also describes a ‘flexible combat system' allowing players to choose between sneaking up on targets or attacking them head on.
