FYI, this story is more than a year old

Well, the biggest franchise in the world is on its way back for a ninth instalment, with Activision announcing the next Call of Duty will be Black Ops 2.  For the first time in the series the game will be set in the future, taking place in a war in the year 2025. One of the first screenshots includes the heading ‘Los Angeles’, so although the setting is futuristic at least we know the game hasn’t left Earth. Yet. The trailer also includes shots of a horseback chase, so Treyarch are obviously trying to keep it somewhat real. Oh, and Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia has confirmed there will be zombies.  Even so, most fans are reserving judgment for details about multiplayer, of which there are currently none. Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 open on November 18. Take a look at the screenshots, watch the trailer, wipe up the drool if you’re a fan, and then leave a comment below and let us know what you think of the first look at the future.
