Captain Forever

Recently released as freeware and the winner of the first IGF China Best Game award, Captain Forever is a unique browser-playable action game in which the player can use parts salvaged from enemy ships to build their own. It’s sort of like Lego, in a way.
While there are relatively few parts in the game, Forever comes off as being really well polished, especially given that it is only the first game – more like a tech demo, really – in a series. However, it can get rather difficult, especially after the first few types or levels of enemies. It lacks any real goal beyond working your way up, but that's forgivable given its early stage of development. The sequel, Captain Successor (and any other versions developed afterwards) is available for a $US15 donation.
