Crown Fibre Holdings has begun appointing chairs to local fibre companies.

Rodger Fisher will chair the Local Fibre Company, which will deploy UFB in Hamilton (including Cambridge and Te Awamutu), Tauranga, Tokoroa, New Plymouth, Hawera and Wanganui.

"We are pleased to have such a credible and experienced professional to chair an LFC that will cover a significant portion of the Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) initiative,” said Simon Allen, Chair of Crown Fibre Holdings.

Crown Fibre Holdings and Northpower also announced the appointment of Jo Brosnahan as chair to Whangarei Local Fibre Company (trading as Northpower Fibre), the firm building ultra fast broadband throughout Whangarei.

"Having served as the CEO of the Northland Regional Council for a number of years, Ms Brosnahan brings invaluable leadership skills and local knowledge to the role,” says Northpower Chair, Warren Moyes.

"Full scale deployment of UFB has now commenced, and we anticipate initial customer connections will come online by the end of Q2,” added Moyes.
