FYI, this story is more than a year old

The Crash franchise has been rather quiet lately and many of you may be wondering why in the name of Bandicoot do we need another racing game? However this new addition to the Crash family has some nice surprising features to keep fans happy. The game is penned by Crash Twinsanity writer Jordan Reicheck (best known for his work on Ren & Stimpy) so you can expect plenty of madness and humour. The story (if anyone is paying attention) is that after being humiliated yet again by Crash Bandicoot at the end of Twinsanity, Dr. Neo Cortex returns to his evil scheming in his dilapidated Iceberg Lair. In his icy hide-away, he hatches a sinister plan to challenge Crash to a seemingly friendly race competition...with plans of crushing the hapless bandicoot under the ruins of the hazardous racetrack! Cue evil laughter.

What makes Tag Team Racing unique, as the name would imply is that now players can combine their car with an opponent’s mid-race to make a super-car equipped with a powerful turret gun. When clashed, players can either get behind the wheel and drive or fire an onboard weapon as a gunner. Elements of the original Crash are included too as players can continue the action out of the car on foot and collect upgrades for their cars and unlock bonus tracks. The game also features split-screen multiplayer for up to eight players with system link on all consoles, and the PSP handheld version supports wireless multiplayer.
