FYI, this story is more than a year old

A new range of Crucial MX300 solid state drives has just hit the market. According to Crucial, who is a global brand of Micron Technology, the latest additions are built for speed and are loaded with advanced features.

Mathew Luu, consumer products group marketing manager at Micron, says that solid state drives are the computing powerhouses behind loading and saving virtually everything done on computers.

“The MX300 is designed to put power back into the hands of users so they can get more out of their system for years to come,” says Luu.

Crucial says the key features for MX300 are:

●       AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption to keep personal and confidential data secure. ●       RAIN technology for increased reliability by storing data in multiple locations on the drive. ●       Exclusive Data Defence to prevent files from becoming corrupted. ●       Adaptive Thermal Protection to keep systems cool.

MX300 enables personal computers to boot up almost instantly, load programmes with ease, and accelerate demanding applications. Crucial's latest addition also enables users to boot up almost instantly, load programmes with ease, and accelerate demanding applications.

The company claims that MX300 is over 90x more energy efficient than a typical hard drive, which also extends battery life by using only 0.075W of power.

Crucial MX300 is available in the M.2 2280 form factor in all capacities in late August. It's on sale for purchase through select ANZ partners including:

Australia Blue Chip Leader Systems   New Zealand PB Tech
