FYI, this story is more than a year old

Chances are that you would have never heard of Doki-Doki Universe before. I never heard of the game either until I got the chance to review it.

I have to say, it's one of the most unique video games I played all year, and quite possibly be one of my favorites too.

Doki-Doki Universe is available on the PS3, PS Vita and even the PS4. The game only costs around $14.15 to download. The $14.15 let's you get all three versions of the game. They all play and look the same so you can pretty much just choose your platform that you like best. Since it's a 2D game, I opted to play Doki Doki Universe on the PS Vita for the majority of the time.

The basic concept of the game is that you play as a clueless robot by the name of QT3 and he lacks any emotion that human possess. An alien named Jeff in a comes in and meets QT3 to tell him to go out and explore the universe. By doing so, he'll get to understand the kind of feeling human beings have, while at the same time he'll get to feel his own emotions too.

Doki-Doki Universe is such a unique game mainly because it's a game more about knowing yourself and human qualities. Whereas most games you're playing a hero trying to save the world and killing lots of enemies, Doki-Doki Universe is more about social interaction as you QT3 and his actions when he is meeting people from new worlds.

The main gameplay of Doki-Doki Universe is that you travel across the universe landing on new planets and meeting up with new types of people and beings. The people and beings on each planet all have problems that QT3 needs to solve. The problems that these beings face are simple things that real life people go through such as hunger, prejudice, loneliness and more.

The best part about Doki-Doki Universe is the fact that QT3 has the ability to conjure up random objects from thin air. Throughout the universe, he can open up presents that will allow him to create even more objects. I remember conjuring up a daughter for a father that wanted one but couldn't since his wife died.

My favorite part of the entire game is that QT3 can actually act like a douche and upset the citizens. QT3 can talk with other people and you can sometimes choose the response that he will give. This usually leads to hilarious consequences. QT3 can also conjure up objects that they don't like too. I remember one person hating the colour green. Naturally I conjured up a cacti just to annoy him. He hated the colur, but the cacti's prickles also touched him and he shouted "ouch".

Another part of the game I really liked are the personality tests. Here you will answer a set of questions and then you will find out what type of human being you really are. I found out I'm a shy guy that doesn't like to conform yet I'm also caring towards others. I'm sure lots of others that play the game will have different characteristics.

Doki-Doki Universe is a highly unique game that is educational, charming and sometimes humorous. If you want to play a game that is very different from anything else out there, you should definitely give this game a try.
