dstore Deals Christmas Bargains for Shoppers and Saves Them Time

Australians have embraced the digital economy with a recent Australian Communications and Media Authority ACMA study revealing that almost 90 percent of internet users are now comfortable with making online transactions.

According to recent research by the Australian Communications and Media Authority, users aged between 25 and 30 were the busiest online shoppers. Overall in the industry, the most popular goods and services purchased online include travel goods and services (56 per cent); event, concert or movie tickets (43 per cent) and household goods such as furniture, electrical appliances, computer equipment (37 per cent).

ACMA chairman Chris Chapman said the survey found 88 per cent of household internet users completed one or more eCommerce activities, while 69 per cent purchased at least one good or service in the past six months. The latest ABS figures show that retail figures are flat, although at the same time, internet shopping trends and consumer popularity is continually on the rise.

Andrew Cooper of dstore said, "online shopping is allowing consumers to purchase more affordably and efficiently by making it easier to locate goods and services and allowing them to compare the costs of items."

With Christmas under a month away, online shoppers are opting to save time and money and beat the Christmas rush at busy shopping centres around the country. Many shoppers are comparing the convenience of online shopping to the amount of time it takes to find a car space in shopping malls. Liza Ticker of Brisbane said “I shop online every Christmas and it allows me the chance to shop without distractions and it also saves my arms and knees from those heavy bags and pushy crowds.” “This year we’re seeing similar trends in popular buys with kids’ toys and adult gadgets top of the list. We have over 800,000 products to choose from and all at the click of a mouse,” Cooper said.
