Electronic Arts has announced Need for Speed: The Run and released a teaser trailer.

The game is in development at EA studio Black Box, with the game's plot revolving around "an illicit, high-stakes race across the [America]".

"The only way to get your life back is to be the first from San Francisco to New York. No speed limits. No rules. No allies. All you have are your driving skills and sheer determination as you battle hundreds of the world's most notorious drivers on the country's most dangerous roads."

The game is scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and although the date "November 15th" is given at the end of the trailer, we can only speculate at this stage as to whether this is the game's official release date.
