As reported by both Gameplanet and NZGamer, Electronic Arts has closed its New Zealand office, with EA's Australasian operations being conducted from its Australian office.

Details are scarce at this stage, and attempts by Game Console to contact the publisher have been unsuccessful, which hasn't helped stop the spread of wild rumours. Update: It seems someone may have jumped the gun as we're hearing conflicting reports about the closure. We've put in another call to EA and await a reply, hopefully with good news. Update 2: We now know of at least one EA New Zealand employee who has left the company today.
