Somewhere in the middle of wall of noise generated by iPad 2 and the iOS 4.3 update, Apple also announced that Random House is getting on board with the iBookstore.

The US's "largest trade publisher” has now made its full catalogue of 17,000 ebooks available on the iBookstore.

Apple says that the iBookstore now features more than 2500 publishers, including all six major trade publishers.

From today customers are said to be able to pre-order upcoming releases from Random House.
