Fable Legends will now be a free-to-play video game
Fri, 27th Feb 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Fable Legends will now become a free-to-play video game.  Lionhead Studios made the announcement earlier today that Fable Legends will be free-to-play on Xbox One with Xbox Live Gold and Windows 10 PC. Even though it's "free", you still need an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to play the Xbox One version of the game.

Fable Legends' Game Director, David Eckelberr, says that going free-to-play means the game will be available to as many players as possible. He says the free-to-play model allows for openess, fairness and generosity.

Fable Legends will allow gamers to experience the entire storyline without spending a single penny. They also promise the game will be fair as everything can be earned simply by playing the game. They also promise items that are bought with real money are all comestic upgrades. Players won't get an unfair advantage over those that choose not to spend money in the game.  Fable Legends will be out later this year.
