FaceTime icon points to iPad 2 camera

FYI, this story is more than a year old

The latest release of iOS 4.3 Beta 2 to software developers has provided further hints that two cameras will feature in the new iPad model.

FaceTime, Camera and PhotoBooth icons have all been seen spotted in the latest iOS beta (pictured) when choosing to preview your wallpaper selection on the homepage.

The three camera-related icons do not appear in any form in developer options for the current iPad, suggesting that Apple has added then to the new version of iOS.

Apple is tipped to release the new iPad in the first half of this year. An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks, according to the founder of Digg.com.

Going out on a limb, some sites are suggesting a February 9th announcement, based on the date that the calendar is displaying in a supposedly leaked iPad 2 image.
