NCsoft has announced that Assault on Balaurea, the highly anticipated free expansion for Aion, will release digitally on September 7th. Full boxed copies of Aion including the expansion will also be available at retail from that date.

Assault on Balaurea allows players to work together to counter assaults against invading Balaur on their own homeland. The expansion also offers new areas to explore, an increased level cap, new weapons and skills, pets, and additions to the game's flight mechanics.
