Gadgets to get you on the road this Easter
Mon, 25th Mar 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

With Easter road trips around the corner Kiwis are set to grab gadgets to keep themselves entertained, and the kids quiet, for the long drive in the car.

Tech retailer Dick Smith today revealed the top products New Zealanders are taking on holiday with them this Easter, with tablets, Kindles, headphones, portable hard drives and cameras topping the list.

Last year’s sales saw the Amazon Kindle and a $50 iTunes Gift Card top the list of most popular products sold over Easter, as Kiwis sought to stave off boredom during long car trips.

“Easter is a great time to get away and spend some quality time with family and friends, but cries of ‘Are we there yet?” can ruin the leisurely mood," says Carl Whiteman, NZ operations manager, Dick Smith.

"If you’re planning a long road trip or the weather decides to pack in, an iPod, Kindle or gaming console can help keep boredom at bay.

"If you’re not quite sure what to pack, the team at Dick Smith can help you find the perfect Easter gadget for your road trip”.

Products expecting to top the sale’s charts ahead of the Easter break include:

1. Asus 7” 16GB Tablet

2. Amazon Kindle WiFi Touch Paperwhite

3. $50 iTunes Gift Card

4. Jabra Freeway Hands-free Car Kit

5. Sony Monitor Headphones

6. Samsung ATIV S Mobile Phone

7. iPad Mini Wifi

8. Navman MY350LMT In-Car GPS

9. Sony PS Vita Wifi
