With an impressive three million global sales since its launch earlier this year, analysts are saying Samsung’s Galaxy S II smartphone could be on its way to becoming the firm’s best-selling model ever.
The Guardian has suggested sales could reach 20 million units, as Apple delays its new iPhone due to disruptions in parts supply and Nokia struggles to gain traction in the market.
Samsung Electronics New Zealand’s Stefan Lecchi says since the smartphone’s local launch last month sales have reflected those around the globe.
"Local sales are exceeding our expectations,” Lecchi says.
"We’re thrilled by kiwis’ response.”
