Game on in Auckland with Auckmageddon
Gaming fans have just over a week to secure their tickets to attend the massive LAN gaming event, Auckmageddon.
The seventh event in a series that's been running since 1997, Auckmageddon will see up to 400 gamers competing in favourites such as Team Fortress 2 and Counter-strike as well as new games like Battlefield 3 and Starcraft 2.
Event organiser Richard Patterson says this year's Auckmageddon will offer a bigger network, more prizes and even faster internet.
"We want to make sure that the event is fun," Patterson says.
"Too many gaming events become super serious and lose the enjoyment element.
Tickets are $95, with prizes from Compulink, Orcon, Alienware, Mighty Ape and Red Bull on offer for the winners.
The event kicks off at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland at midday on February 17.
