FYI, this story is more than a year old

VoucherMob is being hailed by its creator as a revolutionary new mobile service, which lets consumers receive mobile discount vouchers when they are in range of the store premises.

Initially launching in Auckland tomorrow (October 13th), users will be able to select from a list of retailers and have their special offers sent directly to their iPhones when in range via the geo-location function. All you do is present the phone displaying the voucher to receive the discount.

The app is fully linked up with Facebook and Twitter so you can also tell your friends where the specials are.

VoucherMob Founder Scott Bradley, says, “Recent research suggests there are over 325,000 smartphones operating in New Zealand.  VoucherMob delivers an exciting new way for people to be able to customise who they want to receive deals from, so the likelihood of buying something they actually want for a great price is very high.

“It’s a fantastic sales tool for retailers – a really powerful call to action that is cost effective to run, generating virtually instant sales.  Finally there’s a tangible way for retailers to track the effectiveness of digital marketing.”
