Girls arrested after ‘attack a teacher day’ prank
Associated Press reports that six female pupils at Carson Middle School in Nevada have been arrested following the creation of a Facebook event entitled ‘Attack a Teacher Day’.The event was scheduled for January 7th and was, presumably, to feature 18 students who had responded with ‘attending’ to the invite, though the creator of the page has been accused of inviting up to 100.The girls were booked on a misdemeanour charge of communicating threats, but have insisted that the Facebook event was intended as a joke."School shootings really happen. That’s why we took it seriously,” Carson Middle School Principal Dan Sadler told The Associated Press. "It’s not OK, and it’s not funny in this day and age if you’re going to make a threat against a teacher.”
