FYI, this story is more than a year old

As it turns out, even consoles get to celebrate their birthday; nigh on a year ago Kiwi’s were able to experience their first true taste of next gen, high definition gaming via the Xbox 360. With so much hype surrounding a different console last month, it’s probably a good idea to reflect on the year that was with Microsoft. And to do so here are some of the cool things happening on the Xbox 360 this month:

•  Gears of War Bundle in stores RRP $769.95

•  Four games in four days – the challenge to game developers to create an original game in four days at the Game Developers Conference last month. Check out the final creations here http://creators.xna.com/ or read more about the challenge here http://dreambuildplay.com/

•  Xbox Live Arcade celebrates two decades of the Castlevania franchise by releasing Symphony of the Night.

•  Celebrity consoles for charity – check it out here http://www.xbox.com.au
