Have your say on ICT qualifications
Fri, 11th Oct 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Feedback is being sought on the future of ICT qualifications in New Zealand.

Currently there are more than 200 different diploma and certificate qualifications available through polytechnics and private providers nationwide.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and the Institute of IT Professionals have been working to reduce duplication and streamline available qualifications, and ensure they are relevant and valuable to both students and employers.

As a result, working committees of industry professionals have proposed 14 new qualifications – six certificates and eight diplomas covering levels 1-6 – to replace the existing computing and IT qualifications.

These are now available for consultation and feedback on the proposed new qualifications is required by 5pm Wednesday October 16th.

Once the consultation has closed, the draft qualifications will be further refined before being submitted to NZQA in November.

To request further information or provide feedback on the proposed qualifications, email ictquals.review@nzqa.govt.nz, or go to www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualifications-standards/qualifications/information-and-communication-technology-qualifications/review-of-ict-qualifications/ for further details.
