Hotmail hit with phishing scam

Microsoft is urging Hotmail account holders to change their passwords after a massive phishing scam has made thousands of account details publicly available.Reportedly, username and password details for over 10,000 accounts have been posted on pastebin.com, a Web site dedicated to sharing code. The scammers responsible for the scheme tricked users into revealing their username and password details by issuing a convincing email, posing as Hotmail staff. The list of account details has since been removed, but Microsoft still advises Hotmail users to change their passwords. This particular phishing scam affects those with email addresses ending in @hotmail.com, @msn.com and @live.com.For more information on the scam, visit the Windows Live team blog.
