Tue, 9th Aug 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert programme is an exclusive programme created to recognise global educator visionaries who are using technology to pave the way for their peers. All of which is done in an effective way, using technology for better learning and student environments.

Some of the opportunities MIE experts get are as follows:

  • Access to professional and career development opportunities and certifications
  • Participate in focus groups giving feedback to development teams on Microsoft products
  • Join invitation-only special events from Microsoft
  • Collaborate with innovative educators across the globe
  • Test new products while in beta form and participate in pre-release programmes for certain education-related tools
  • Represent Microsoft through product demonstrations and by attending events
  • Build educator capacity in your community (school, district or at training events) by speaking, training and/or coaching colleagues and inviting them to participate in the online Microsoft Educator Community
  • Collaborate with innovative educators across the globe
  • Host regional events showcasing your use of Microsoft technology in the classroom

According to Microsoft, the company believes in the power of the educator, and the impact educators can have when they are brought together and recognised for their achievements.

The company says MIE Experts are here to help lead innovation in education and advocate and share their thoughts on the use of technology in education. Microsoft says their educators provide insight for the company on new products and tools for education, and exchange best practices as they work together to promote innovation in teaching and learning.

Applications to join are now open. To apply, head to the Microsoft Innovative Educator website.
