Instagram - #selfielapse
Instagram has released an update to its video app Hyperlapse, giving users the ability to capture time-lapse videos using the front-facing camera on their mobile device. In other words, the #selfielapse is now a thing.
Creating a #selfielapse is as simple as tapping an icon on the app's home screen, which toggles between the front and rear-facing cameras. As before, a Hyperlapse video can be shared directly to your Instagram or Facebook account, or simply saved to your smartphone's camera roll to access later.
Perfecting the right #selfielapse may take some getting used to but here are some easy tips on creating some sweet videos:
- Stand still and have a moving background (i.e. CBD foot traffic, riding a roller coaster).
- Capture yourself walking down the street as your surroundings whirl by.
- Document transformations - getting a new haircut, applying makeup or tying a tie - by propping your phone up against a wall.
- Hold up your phone and get a great #selfielapse as you spin around in a chair, or jump on a trampoline.
Hyperlapse from Instagram version 1.1 is available for download today for iOS devices.
