iOS App Review: Circle the Dot
Thu, 4th Sep 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

I’ve said it a few times now, but simple games make the best games.

The latest simple great game to head my way is one called Circle the Dot. You’re presented with a grid of grey dots with one blue dot.

The aim is to tap on the grey dots to encircle the blue dot as it makes its way towards the edge of the grid. If you don’t circle the blue dot before it gets to the sides, you’re out. Watch out though; this is one smart dot.

I actually haven’t managed to do it yet and it is driving me crazy. I will keep trying, don’t worry. It’ caught me. It had me at hello. It had me at “shame on you, you keep losing”.

The game is free so there are ads the pop up every now and then, but you get used to it. The interface is basic and free of clutter, which is nice. You know what to do straight away so you don’t need to read any guides or instructions. Did I say it was simple?

Requires iOS 5.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
