Apple has finally released iTunes 11 to customers, after a series of delays since an its announcement in September.

The music platform is now available with one day to spare, with the tech giant predicting a November release.

"The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right," Apple told All Things D.

"We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November."

Online speculation increased last week that the new software was days away from release, with the rumours now proving to be true.

Apple says iTunes 11 is set to include a variety of welcome features including an improved mini-player, instant recommendations and preview history.
