Jobs movie set for NZ release
Fri, 9th Aug 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The story of Steve Jobs' ascension from college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century will hit Kiwi cinemas on August 29.

Starring Hollywood A-lister Ashton Kutcher as the Apple guru, TechDay will be co-promoting the release - meaning heaps of giveaways for our lucky readers.

Detailing the rise of Apple through co-founders Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the movie could be Apple's biggest release of the year – even surpassing the hugely popular iPhone 5.

Produced by Open Road Films, the movie promises to “plunge into the depths of his character, creating an intense dialogue-driven story that is much a sweeping epic as it is an immensely personal portrait of Steve Jobs' life.

Producer Mark Hulme and Five Star Feature Films launched the production immediately following Jobs retirement in August 2011.

Screenwriter Matt Whiteley, while penning the script, utilised a team of expert researchers based on months of exhaustive research and interviews with Jobs' friends, colleagues and mentors to develop the most truthful and gripping picture of Jobs life.
