FYI, this story is more than a year old

Video technology provider Kaltura has announced the completion of the first stage of its plans to grow its footprint in Australia and New Zealand.

With a long-established footprint in Asia Pacific (APAC), this expansion underscores the importance of Australia and New Zealand as key markets, Kaltura says.

As a reflection of this focus, Kaltura has expanded its ANZ team with senior hires aiming to boost Kaltura's ability to serve digital transformation efforts in ANZ's business and education sectors.

James Brennan joins to spearhead the enterprise and government business.

Brennan has significant experience in the video and collaboration market having driven record results in previous roles as APAC director for BlueJeans Network and ANZ sales director at Polycom.

Grant Beevers joins to lead the expansion in education, coming from his most recent role as the senior manager of solutions engineering at Blackboard.

In addition to these new appointments, Kaltura has relocated key personnel from its US and European businesses to lead solution engineering and customer success functions.

Kaltura has also established partnerships with education technology company Blackboard conferencing service provider West Corporation who are working with the company's local team to work with organisations across ANZ to incorporate video into their business.

“Market research has identified ANZ as a region with significant untapped potential,” says Kaltura APAC enterprise and learning business VP and MD Eylon Cohen.

“Moving ahead, we foresee wider acceptance of video technology in the digitisation plans of local enterprises and educational providers alike, presenting new opportunities for Kaltura to distinguish itself as a leading industry player in Asia Pacific.

“Supported by our newly minted team, we are thrilled to embark on a new chapter of our regional growth story, and look forward to further entrenching Kaltura's presence in the ANZ region.

As part of its community outreach and awareness efforts, Brennan will be participating as a keynote speaker in the HR Leaders Forum, taking place in Sydney on February 20 - 21.

VP of global product strategy and business development Jeff Rubenstein will discuss video technology as a part of Digital Disruption 2018, held in Sydney on March 26 - 27 2018.

Kaltura provides Cloud TV, OVP (Online Video Platform), EdVP (Education Video Platform) and EVP (Enterprise Video Platform) and is the initiator and backer of a major open source video management project.
