Killer Instinct Season 3 impressions
Fri, 15th Apr 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Microsoft and Double Helix have released Season 3 of Killer Instinct available both on Xbox One and Windows 10. Are the new characters worth buying? Season 3 of Killer Instinct is unique because it brings in two former fighters from the franchise and another two from the wider Microsoft gaming universe. More fighters are expected to be released, but for now you can only play as four of them at the moment.  Arguably the best new addition is Kim Wu who was originally released in Killer Instinct 2. She is the fastest fighter of the bunch and has some of the best move sets. She can also use nunchucks to great effect. Even if you have never played Killer Instinct before, you can button mash with Kim Wu and execute awesome looking combos.  Next up there is another Killer Instinct legend by the name of Tusk. Tusk is your Arnold Schwarzenegger stereotype but he's blonde and wields a huge sword. From my playthrough of the character, Tusk might only be suitable for those who are familiar with the character already. Even though he is powerful, he's quite slow against most other people on the roster.  One of the outside characters joining Killer Instinct Season 3 is Rash from Battletoads. It's great to see Rash as he has not appeared in many video games since the '90s. Much like Kim Wu, Rash is pretty speedy and easy to play as. His victory pose also pays homage to the older games as he rides on a speeder bike.  Lastly, we have the Halo series' Arbiter. The Arbiter has always been my personal favorite Halo character and he is badass in Killer Instinct. He has unique abilities that makes him deadly in Killer Instinct as he can throw a plasma grenade and use the Carbine rifle. Not to mention he can also wield the cool plasma sword. There is even a Halo stage dedicated to him as well.  As cool as it is playing as these four characters, it's worth mentioning that Season 3 is not complete yet. None of the four new characters have their own story modes and there will be four more characters released later this year. Season 3 may feel incomplete right now, but more content will be coming soon.  Overall, Season 3 of Killer Instinct is awesome and I cannot wait for the rest of the content to come out. If you get all seasons of the game. the roster count will jump to 26 fighters in total.
