FYI, this story is more than a year old

Microsoft New Zealand has significantly cut recommended retail prices across a wide range of Xbox 360 consoles, games and accessories.

The console manufacturer says the price reduction comes ahead of a season of releases, including Halo 4, Forza Horizon and Dance Central 3.

Headlining the biggest NZ price drop in Xbox history is a $120 saving on the popular Xbox 360 250GB Kinect bundle ($479) according to the company, with a standalone 4GB console costing $279 and the 4GB console and Kinect sensor bundle a $100 cheaper at $399.

Xbox NZ lead Steven Blackburn says the price drop is exclusive to the New Zealand and Australian markets.

“This is the biggest price reset for the Xbox range to date," he says.

"Simply put, we’re offering our fans the same great Xbox 360 experience at our lowest prices ever."
