Logitech G launches MIXLINE audio tool for gamers & creators
Logitech G has announced the release of the full version of MIXLINE, a free and easy-to-use audio mixing solution specifically for gamers and creators. This new tool is available in 22 languages for Windows 10 (21H2 or later) and Windows 11.
Daniel Bowen, Senior Global Product Manager for MIXLINE, said, "If you have more than one audio source while streaming, gaming, or even just wearing your headphones, then MIXLINE is for you." This highlights the software's versatility and utility for a broad range of users.
MIXLINE is the latest addition to the Logitech G ecosystem. It aims to address and simplify the often complex problem of managing multiple audio sources, involving tasks such as mixing, routing, and monitoring—all with minimal system resource requirements. This makes it particularly suitable for gamers and creators who wish to ensure their audio is consistently high quality. The press release says the software promises a straightforward, intuitive interface.
Andrew Coonrad, Head of Marketing for G HUB, added, "Anyone who has worked with PC audio routing and mixing knows it can be challenging to learn and manage with the tools that currently exist or with proprietary systems that only work in certain streaming scenarios. We're excited to bring the full capabilities of MIXLINE to our community, as it offers an easy and smart way to manage your PC audio for everything from gaming to full-blown content production."
The software requires only one audio driver, which is crucial for gamers who rely on their computer's CPU for performance-intensive applications like Streamlabs Desktop, particularly when streaming from a single PC. This design choice helps free up system resources, which can then be allocated to other tasks, optimising overall system performance.
Using MIXLINE, users can select their preferred audio inputs, monitor sound with a single button, and manage audio sources and levels through a clean and straightforward interface. For live streamers, MIXLINE offers functionality that facilitates more complex audio management. For instance, users can route audio from applications like Discord directly to their headphones, keeping private conversations off their live stream while maintaining clarity in their game audio. Further, streamers can share music with their audience without interfering with their headphones' audio output.
Following a closed beta process, the full version of MIXLINE incorporates features requested by the community, such as the ability to customise the colours of inputs and outputs for ease of monitoring. This feedback-driven approach continues to be a hallmark of Logitech G's product development ethos.
Key features of MIXLINE include a simplified drag-and-drop interface for audio routing, the capability to mix, stream, and record professional-quality audio within a single application, and independent volume control for each input and output. The software also offers customisation options for professional-grade audio enhancements while reducing desktop clutter and optimising stream performance.
MIXLINE addresses specific challenges encountered by PC users in managing their audio, aiming to make this process easier, faster, and more resource-efficient. The goal is to allow gamers and content creators to focus on their core activities without the distraction of complex audio management tasks.
