Mac sales likely to exceed expectations

With Apple due to release its global quarterly results tomorrow, analysts are frothing in anticipation of substantial earnings. According to a report on CNet, analysts expect Apple to announce earnings of around $24.75 billion, well above the $23 billion predicted by chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer at the last announcement in April. Apple Insider agrees, predicting earnings of $24.6 billion. This during a period in which consumers have been waiting patiently for updates to much of the Apple product line. Mac OS X Lion is due for release this month, with an updated MacBook Air lineup likely to follow. The iPhone is also due for an update judging by Apple’s usual schedule.
