Software allowing Mac users to runWindows applications without having to reboot their computers is being taken upmore and more in workplaces, according to publishers Parallels.

Releasing the new ParallelsDesktop 6 for Mac Enterprise Edition, Parallels has said more than 50% of theFortune Global 200 companies have adopted its technology.

The software is particularlypopular among design-oriented firms, Parallels says, with creative departments,who traditionally lean towards Macs, also able to run the Windows-basedapplications used in other departments.

The firm says a recent surveyfound 58% of workers said their employers would allow them to choose between aMac or a PC for their work computer. When asked to choose the most usefulcomputer for work, 53% chose a Mac running Windows applications.
