Driving underwater and gliding through the air are two new joys Mario Kart players  will be able to experience with the launch of Mario Kart 7 for Nintendo 3DS.

Available in New Zealand from December 3, the game offers players the chance to race as four new characters – Lakitu, Wiggler, Honey Queen, and Metal Mario – and on 16 new tracks, as well as 16 remastered classics from other versions of the game.

Players can also unlock parts for their karts by collecting coins during their races, and exchange game data with other players via the 3DS' StreetPass feature.
