Mass Effect anime scheduled for 2012
BioWare has announced that a Mass Effect anime feature film is scheduled for release in 2012.
Details are rather scarce, but it's known that BioWare has recruited anime-production company T.O. Entertainment and distributor FUNimation for this project. BioWare's Casey Hudson, executive producer of the Mass Effect games, will also be responsible for the film's production.
"Over the last few years, we have revealed different pieces of the Mass Effect world through different media," said Hudson. "Extending the story through an anime medium is another amazing opportunity for us."
The as-yet unnamed Mass Effect anime will release on digital and home-video formats next year. A similar project is already in the works for another BioWare property, Dragon Age, which is due this year.
