Metal Arms: Glitch in the System – XBLA
Fri, 1st Aug 2008
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is not your average cartoony looking shooter. For starters, within minutes of viewing the first cut-scene, there is profanity! Profanity from cutesy looking robots is not quite what you’d expect at all from an Xbox Live arcade title.

Being a third person shooter, this game will appeal to gamers who enjoy a mix of shooting and adventure as well as an interesting storyline (not to mention an equally interesting main character).

A re-release for Xbox Live arcade from an original game released for the Xbox in 2003, you will definitely notice the dated graphics on a high def TV. That aside, Glitch is a neat character and you’ll instantly enjoy all the mayhem and impossible situations you’ll find yourself getting into. The game begins with your character Glitch heading into battle against the evil forces of General Corrosive and his army who are hell-bent on destroying your hometown of Droid City. Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is an action title that blends a little bit of everything for everyone; shooting, adventure, humour and multiplayer action.

Back in the day, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System was a successful title on the Xbox and although I am not sure I would categorise this game as a classic as such, you can certainly see why the game was so popular when it was released in 2003.

There is enough content in the storyline to keep you interested and engrossed as Glitch shoots his way through 40 different areas in the game. Jumping and getting around in the game can be a little challenging and the targeting system could do with some work but those little hitches aside, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System would be a welcome title on the Xbox 360 for anyone remotely interested in a fun-filled adventure with robots and lots and lots of guns!
