Microsoft hiring 'next generation' Xbox architects?
Tue, 8th Mar 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Gamespot reports that a number of job postings on LinkedIn specify roles "responsible for defining and delivering next generation console architectures from conception through implementation".

Specifically, the postings seek an Audio/Video Hardware Architect, an Audio Architect and a Graphics Architect.

The original Xbox console, predecessor of the Xbox 360, launched in November 2001, and Microsoft ceased its manufacture in early 2006. The Xbox 360 launched worldwide back in November 2005, which now places it firmly in its fifth year of existence. Gamespot has previously reported that Microsoft games division executive Shane Kim claims that the Xbox 360 would have a roughly 10-year lifespan.
