Microsoft wants you! To join the Avatar Army
Tue, 24th May 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Microsoft is recruiting for its Avatar Army on Facebook, and joining could win you 100,000 MS points.

Head to Microsoft's ANZ Xbox Facebook page and answer a simple question - which will also sign you up for the Avatar Army - to go in the draw for 100,000 MS points.

Microsoft Points are the currency of the Xbox Live marketplace, the Games for Windows Live marketplace and Zune online store.

The points can be used to purchase games, download movies, TV shows and content for games.

Currently, Microsoft Points can be bought in minimum bundles of 400 for $4.99 and maximum bundles of 6000 for $74.99. This pricing values the prize at over $700.

Recently, news spread of a US offer where students purchasing a new Windows-7 based PC for US$699+ are being offered a free Xbox 360 4GB console in addition.

Unfortunately, Microsoft New Zealand have confirmed the deal will not be extended to New Zealand. However, retailer Harvey Norman has an offer where students can purchase a HP Pavilion DV6-3206TX with bonus Xbox 360 4GB Kinect bundle for NZ$1499.

The deal runs through 29 May, 2011.
