Gamers may have to wait till at least March 2011 to get their hands on the highly anticipated Star Wars Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) The Old Republic according to a statement made by Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello.

During EA’s 2010 fiscal year update Riccitiello commented that “the game is making great progress towards a spring 2011 launch”.

Details of the game have been released steadily since the game’s announcement trailer impressed viewer’s at E3 last year, so the possibility that the game may not launch until mid-2011 comes as surprising and no doubt disappointing news for many.
