More war leaks

01 Dec 2010

Online whistleblower WikiLeaks (wikileaks.org) claims its recent release of nearly 400,000 documents related to the war in Iraq represents "the first real glimpse into the secret history of the war that the United States government has been privy to throughout”. Others disagree, however.A scathing editorial in The Washington Post said there was nothing in the documents that hadn’t been reported elsewhere before. It also asserted the leaks had, at least temporarily, complicated moves to form a new government in Iraq."We are all for the disclosure of important government information; but [WikiLeaks founder Julian] Assange’s reckless and politically motivated approach, while causing tangible harm, has shed relatively little light,” the editorial concluded.
