New services Google+ and iCloud pose a significant challenge to entrenched players like Facebook in the mobile environment, despite the incumbents’ seemingly insurmountable dominance.

That’s the opinion web developers have expressed in a survey by Appcelerator and IDC.

25% of respondents thought the launch of Google’s latest social networking venture, Google+, would have the most impact on mobile adoption and growth, while 22% picked the launch of Apple’s iCloud. Following these were near-field communication (18%), which could see people making transactions with their phones,  the integration of Twitter with iOS5 (14%) and the Android patent dispute (13%).

Two thirds of those interviewed in the survey believe Google+ can catch Facebook, rating the assets of the search giant above Facebook’s phenomenal user base.

Apple platforms are still the most popular for developers, with 91% saying they are ‘very interested’ in developing for the iPhone and 88% for the iPad. Android was close behind, with 87% keen to develop for Android phones and 74% for Android tablets. No other OS reached over 30%.
