News: Lion OS install base, Ashton Kutcher to play Steve Jobs, Lenovo's laptops, and more!
Mon, 2nd Apr 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

An online data analytics company is reporting that Mac OS X Lion has a 30 percent share in terms of the Mac install base. They also reveal that this number means LIon has almost caught up to Snow Leopard at 43 percent, Leopard at 14 percent, and Tiger at 14 percent. ZDNet says the percentage of Macs still running Snow Leopard shouldn't be surprising, as Lion has a few changes not everyone is happy about, and Snow Leopard has the compatibility advantage. According to multiple sources, there will be two movies based around Steve Jobs. One, by Sony Entertainment will be based around the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson, and the other is a little stranger, as Ashton Kutcher is set to play Steve Jobs in that particular biopic.

Lenovo has simply stopped trying to design laptops of their own and are simply copying Apple as best they can — or so suggests their latest effort, the IdeaPad U310. The trackpad isn't cantered, and it has a different keyboard layout, but if you're not looking too closely it doesn't seem all that dissimilar to a MacBook Pro.

The world map in Date and Time preferences on your Mac changes according to the seasons. One of those things you never notice until it's pointed out to you — but then again, the world map in Lion isn't quite as colourful.
