FYI, this story is more than a year old

Microsoft New Zealand has now confirmed the official recommended retail price (RRP) for the Kinect motion-control peripheral for Xbox 360. The Kinect sensor bundled with Kinect Adventures will retail locally for $229.

A console bundle will also retail for $499, which includes a new 4GB Xbox 360, the Kinect sensor and Kinect Adventures.

A regional launch date for Kinect is yet to be announced, although it's understood to be sometime in November.

Now that the prices are on the table, are you willing to pay that much for the Kinect peripheral?

Hat tip to Game Junkie for first confirming the RRP.

UPDATE - 5.08pm: EB Games New Zealand has added via Twitter that Kinect software will start at $79.99.
