So GTA V finally released yesterday on PS3 and Xbox 360, but instead of the murder and gratuitous violence causing issues it is a review by Gamespots' Carolyn Petit.

Now we all know it would not officially be a decent GTA release without some kind of controversy, but should this be caused by a review score of 9.0?

In fact it appears Carolyn’s review praised the game generally for all the right reasons until she offered her personal views on the game – “hang on” I hear you cry, “isn’t that the job of a game reviewer?”

Yes sane people of the world it would appear game reviewers can no longer offer their own personal insight into a release as Carolyn stated;

“Politically muddled and profoundly misogynistic” “Perhaps you dive right into the game’s story problems, or its serious issues with women.”

Apparently the fact that she has dared to mention the games view point on women (keep in mind the fact that all GTA games are full of hookers) is enough for some gamers to call for her head, with a petition for her sacking already started.

Obviously these views are a reason to fire her right? No, it is a reviewer’s job to offer their opinions and describe what they see as positives or flaws within a game.

This is not the first time Gamespot readers have lost their heads with reviewer Jeff Gerstmann receiving death threats for his review of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

People who are offended by reviews are free not to read them and find another website or publication that suits their viewpoints instead of trying to end the career of somebody who offers a different opinion to their own.
