Patch Tuesday due this week
Microsoft will fix two vulnerabilities it considerscritical, when it issues its monthly Patch Tuesday update this week.
Both vulnerabilities would allow hackers to remotely controla computer. One is in Windows and one in Office. Windows 7 and Windows Server2008 R2 customers will be offered the Windows related update, but Microsoftsays they are “not vulnerable in their default configurations”.
The updates are expected to be issued automatically onWednesday or Thursday, NZ time, and will require you to restart your computer.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is again advising users of Windows 2000and Windows XP SP2 that all support for these platforms will end after July 13th.Customers should upgrade to either a supported operating system or the latestservice pack in order to keep receiving security updates.
